THE PRIMEVAL SITE AND PRIMEVAL WIKI BECOME PARTNERS
Primeval (Anomaly Research Centre) Wiki admin 'The ARC Minister' and the creator of The Primeval Site have reached and agreement that means both the Site and the Wiki will join forces and cooperate to build a better and prosperous Primeval community.
In a negotiation which benefited both parties, it has been confirmed that there will be content shared between the Primeval Wiki and The Primeval Site. The type of changes you will expect to see will be primarily in the aesthetics of the site. For example, the individual Series pages will have links under each episode to the Wiki's article on the episode to allows users to visit the Wiki and see in detail the basis of the Episode, detail the site does not have. The Primeval Site's YouTube channel will also have a link to the Wiki in each video description. It has been confirmed that the 10th Anniversary Primeval special, known as Primeval X, will be made in association with the Wiki, hence the Wiki's logo will be credited when the special airs. On the Primeval Wiki there will be a place on the Main Page for The Primeval Site, showcasing the newest video clips from the YouTube channel, and promoting Primeval X. There will also be individual clips embedded onto each episode article on the Wiki. There may yet be other features or showcases to come from both sites.

When the creator of The Primeval Site, Owen Price, was asked about the deal he said, "When I made the site, it was always intended to be a place that the Primeval community to visit, and view their favourite parts of the show, download content, and ultimately have the website that we never had, and won't have until the show returns. The extra networks that grew from it were something I wasn't planning on, but suddenly a Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram page was made, and we found that we were posting daily Primeval content, trivia, polls etc. We're providing the community a meal, because they'd been starved. And very soon, we are planning to expand to other social media networks too, and a special new feature will allow you to actually get a DVD of Primeval X. We've got some exciting things to come.
I was aware of the Wiki; I'd actually edited on it back in 2011/12 time. But the Wiki is an overwhelming database, and as fantastic as it is, it doesn't serve well as a summarised website style site, it does what its purpose is; to be a database of EVERYTHING Primeval, not just the main elements. The Wiki also cannot include customised and exclusive features, such as our unique Download section. So despite how incredible the Wiki is, I saw that that was the only Primeval site on the internet, and I felt obliged to take a new spin on things, and make a concise, and nice website to accompany the Wiki. The website that the show would have if it was still on TV. The sort of things that would allow new viewers of the show to be introduced to it. And then everything else spouted from there. The video clips, soundtrack, trivia posts, they're a bonus that compliment the site. If anything, the social media is more popular than the actual site. But, it's a place the fans can always come back to, and check, and look for updates, and view. And of course, Primeval X was a project that needed a proper home too. So, what I don't want from this deal is to betray what I first set out to do - there won't be pages of information like the Wiki has, we won't be doing that, we'll be supplying links and promotion to the Wiki, so any fans who want to read deeper into the show can, because it's something that we can't provide. But at its core, we will remain the site we currently are. We will be helped by the Wiki, and vice versa. We will compliment each other.
I never expected for the site to gain the popularity it has done, it's been incredible. And this is another step forward, and can only be beneficial for both the site and the Wiki. A step I never thought would happen. When The ARC Minister approached me, I was so overwhelmed by the fact that the Wiki have seen the site and think its good enough to partner with in this way. So please support it, it's a fantastic new era, and it will be a great way to push forward the Primeval X project, the Wiki, and overall push forward the Primeval community. And maybe one day, who knows? It may return?"
The Wiki was created back in 2010 and has over one thousand articles, and thousands of images. It was at it's height of popularity in 2010-2012, but since Primeval left our screens altogether (with Primeval: New World finishing in 2013) the Wiki (through no fault of its own) has been becoming less active ever since. Recently, a slight spike in popularity has occurred, as the Wiki is having a massive overhaul, in design and in content. There is a huge tidy up process taking place, with spelling errors, spam articles and many other things being corrected. The design of the Wiki also recently changed, and it is a much more friendly and introductory design now. You can help the Wiki by Editing and Fixing articles, and expanding the Wiki. Of course, being so extensive, the Wiki has already got an almost complete database on Primeval, but there are still many things that can be added or fixed, including the addition of images, and descriptions of individual events in episodes.
